Improvements

  • The Business Continuity Management application has replaced the Business Continuity Planning application, delivering the following enhancements to customers:
    • Create multiple Business Impact Analyses with embedded Risk Assessment.
      • Assess recovery priorities 
      • Rate process criticality
      • Assess impact
      • Evaluate related risks
      • Map resources (inputs) that support processes
      • Map dependencies from your risk and compliance data
    • Establish Continuity Strategies to manage the risks identified in the Business Impact Analysis, by documenting alternative resources (inputs), that allow critical processes to recover and continue to operate, following a disruption.
    • Develop a Plan that documents procedures, tasks and ownership for recovering critical processes identified in the business impact analysis following a disruption.
    • Validate plan effectiveness and identify areas for improvement through Exercises that simulate disruptions.
    • Set preconditions and dependencies for activating plans.
    • Reports & Dashboards
      • Give the Risk or Executive Committee strategic oversight on the critical processes, impact assessments and risks identified across all business impact analyses.
      • Give the Business Continuity Team oversight on the number of critical process and risks, coverage of continuity strategies, plans and exercises, and the number of resources and alternative resources supporting critical processes.
